vinyl only, ahead of their collaborative album later this year, pier bucci and oskar szafraniec present their first sampler titled tipico latino featuring a remix by el_txef_a. emerging in the mid 00 s, chilean producer pier bucci first appeared on cadenza with a release alongside luciano himself before dropping multiple releases on crosstown rebels, including his acclaimed album familia . since then he s appeared on get physical and rawax, not to mention launching maruca music - a platform for his own music featuring heavyweight remixers such as baby ford and thomas melchior. szafraniec has been producing under different monikers since 13 years old, releasing two solo albums, recording alongside a guy called gerald in 2012/2013, and touring as a live performer. as oskar szafraniec his production debut was a collaboration alongside ricardo villalobos two years ago, but since then he s appeared on murge recordings and cyclo, as well as collaborating with pier bucci on rawax, who oskar met whilst touring japan tipico latino features gloomy spanish vocals as intricate elements are brought in and out of the mix across its nearly nine-minute duration. subtle throbs and echoing effects are blended with metallic percussion and deep synths for a wistful and mesmerising aesthetic. forbidden colours founder el_txef_a, whose remix talents have been recruited by permanent vacation, galaktika, akbal and culprit, reimagines the original providing a drawn out intro before exploding into a frenzy of crashing cymbals, animated acid and serene vocal moans.

henry thomas low key 45 on raptown records has until now been a featured in the record boxes of deep boogie and two step dj s who know the deal, it s now time for it to spread its fm synth wings to bigger dancefloors. what more do you want, a solid two sider that only slipped through ebay a few times on the cheap as people did not know it, managed to bag one of those myself and with some help from a good friend track henry down, alive, well and looking forward to his music getting a revival.

ron dj skull maney is a legend. nrg music dropped in 1991 on chicago s saber label and cemented his rep as one to watch over the coming years. one of chicago s new wave of producers with a fierce style and original sound. the original press of nrg music was super lo-fi and that suited maney s sound. his blend of jacking box jams, deep pads, porno samples and nasty ass acid lines all complement each other on what is one of the era s most unique ep s. those who know recognise that skull s music over the years has always been essential listening material and this, his first ep, is a heavyweight signifier of what was to come! across 6 tracks we get a surprising cache of styles, from the sleazed out redlight action of nasty girl to the driving, demented minimalism of the raft it s all here, plain as day, one for the heads, the connoisseurs and the freaks. the real deal! reissued and remastered with the full permission of trax/saber records we have another gem from the annals of chicago house history for 2017. do not sleep!

limit and asymmetric are in fact both the work of st. petersburg-based producer evgeniy sergeev, who has been building up a library of contemporary d&b productions digitally and now makes the leap to vinyl with some of the strongest of his productions to date. stormy is aptly titled as it rips with ferocity through mangled breaks, rave stabs and hoovers aplenty and quarantine is a quintessential darkside jam with more of that tricksy drum programming. the b-side offers a little more respite with the sunkissed tones of transzendental and the soulful yet ruff mood of jazz is making a smart counterpoint to the heavier a side.

o celebrate the 25th anniversary of ugkãs first album, get on down goes the extra mile, presenting it for the first time ever on vinyl. and 2-lp clear vinyl at that, giving the strutting, funky grooves the chance to really stretch out on your system. back in 1992, southern hip-hop was still proving to the world that it could sustain a fan base that was chiefly raised on rap from new york and la. the geto boys and 2 live crew had made strong cases by the earliest 90s, and pimp c and bun b were ready to make their own. most of the trunk-bumping bass comes from drum programs and basic sampling on these tunes in later years they would build their sound into something even fuller and deeper. self-produced with additional work from houston locals bernie bismark and shetoro henderson, the tracks here are minimal, slow and menacing, which matched their lyrical approach quite nicely. you can hear the beginnings of the groups true greatness in these early lyrical workouts ¹ several taken from the regional cassette-only ep the southern way that got them signed to jive with tales of street hustles, relationships and self-reliance in a world stacked against them. they may have been done early-on, but that doesnt mean they arent crucial to ugks legacy cases in point being the three singles: something good, a charismatic update to bill withers use me up, and pocket full of stones (the latter featured on the menace ii society soundtrack). beyond the singles, deeper cuts like iãm so bad, feels like iãm the one whos doin dope and cramping my style made it clear to the world that this crew had the attitude and charisma to make even bigger waves in the years to come.

flying was the italo disco project of marzio benelli and andrea venturoli from firenze, italy. marzio specialized in sound engineering at various recording studios in milan throughout the early 1980s. he opened emme studio where we worked with major national and international artists as claudio baglioni, renato zero, venditti, marco masini, pieces, mia martini, litfiba, mick ronson. in 1984 he met andrea, a sound programmer who knew his way around analog synthesizers. their first collaboration was that same year on the song

from nursery to misery were three teenagers who grew up together on the same street in basildon, essex. formed in 1987, the band was comprised of vocalists (and identical twins) gina and tina fear, along with keyboard player and producer lee stevens.

almost 10 years have passed since onra arrived with the charmingly eccentric chinoiseries lp. 32 hip-hop beats formed the sample-based project - dusty chinese vinyl hissing and crackling throughout � resulting in an intriguing and spontaneous mix of the producers interest in exploring a newly-discovered style of music with his love for classic hip-hop production.
using the style of analogue mpc production combined with the somewhat restrictive record sampling of strictly chinese music records, he has been able to be creative over three volumes, an amount of 100 instrumentals, despite the challenge of finding more obviously standout samples in chinese music.
the chinoiseries projects are the type of albums that invites the listener to play it from beginning to end, in order to really enjoy the trip and appreciate the variety of rhythms and textures spread over those 32 short instrumentals. in that way, �pt.3� is no different to its predecessors, but the originality of the samples, the curious harmonies and the odd-drum patterns still makes the album sounds as fresh as the first one.
onra finishes this epic trilogy with class as a result of extended record digging across the far east and the producer s own development over the preceding 10 years.

for our 225th release on freerange we welcome an exciting new austrian producer who goes by the name demuja. his mary janes theory record caused something of a stir when it came out at the start of the year on his fledgling vinyl-only label muja. having now clocked up over 300k plays on youtube and reportedly being offered for silly money on discogs it�s clear to see there�s a buzz on this guy, and when you check his music you�ll hear why. taking his inspiration from classic deep house but with a rough and raw approach, demuja can sit proudly alongside the likes of ross from friends, mall grab or rimbaudian riding the new wave of fresh, contemporary house. on his freerange debut, the move ep offers up four original tracks, eachwith their own distinct flavour. opening the release we have title track move spring into action with simple rhodes chords floating across a crisp, driving up-tempo groove showing off the deeper side to demuja. next up b.o.o.m offers us a simple yet captivating, dancefloor-focused affair with a lone, repeating piano stab hooking us into the action. flipping over we have into my brain which brings some acid-tinged italo vibes and a jacking beat to proceedings whilst the closing track turn me on cuts up a much- loved paradise garage classic for a warm, soul-infused slice of classic, bumpy house music

italian producer alfredo mazzilli presents us with logical strength, his second ep on weekend circuit. across 4 tracks he expresses his own unique take on the deepest strains of techno and it s outer reaches. ep opener logical strength is a throbbing piece of driving, menacing wormhole music with heavy arpeggiated sounds and rock solid, incessant drum-programming, leaving nothing standing in it s wake it is a firm statement of intent. nuvole sees the pace change slightly, adopting more of an eerie, borderline hallucinatory feel. the track unfolds beautifully with heavenly pads and synth swells draped across some tribally infused drums. on side 2 we have a stellar remix of nuvole from eminent swedish producer evigt mörker who travels a more subdued, sedate path with his interpretation. finishing off this 4 track excursion we are drawn into the beatless, introspective terrain of parhelion . a beautifully nuanced and subtle way to close things. washes of synth and atmosphere embrace us as we travel onwards, deeper into the night. alfredo mazzilli shows us once again his own individual and unique style on this ep, another essential chapter in the weekend circuit story.

in spaces, composed by the brussels based producer haring, talks about what is living between several spaces and places, the feeling of having several homes and the ability to appropriate these spaces. haring has indeed composed this album between brussels, paris and istanbul. the encounters, the anchoring and the discovery of these cities come together in these ten titles which are each in their own way an ode to these cultures which opened new musical perspectives for him.

the mark that the late producer j dilla left upon hip-hop during the 90s and early-to-mid 00s is undeniable. his work with de la soul, busta rhymes, the pharcyde, and of course slum village long been cemented his prominence in the annals of hip-hop history. of the many words one can use to describe j dillaãs legacy, one thatãs not used enough is prolific. dilla made beats constantly. so new dilla compositions are still being discovered. one of the places where those works are still being unearthed is the archives of the neãastra music group, who proudly present here 8 dilla tracks previously unissued on vinyl. dillaãs legacy continues to be shared and celebrated by todayãs hip-hop audience ¹ with help from the tireless efforts of ne astra.

the fourth release on spazio records is indeed a very special one. it�s the first release from behrang mohammadi - who also is one of the label bosses. coming from the punk/noise scene playing in various bands, he found his true calling in the underground electronic community of southern sweden.
the ep consists of two minimalistic club weapons, each one of it�s own kind. it�s a groovey affair with the typical elements of behrangs own djing: it�s not too much, not too little - always full of passion.

one of electronic music�s greats steps back into the limelight with his first ep in more than 10 years. erik van den broek, the dutch producer who is probably better known under some of his pseudonyms such as shiver, essit musique and acid kid dominated the 90�s with a slew of brilliant acid and electro releases on dance arena productions and shiver. erik was a firm favourite of dave clarke and laurent garnier who included some of his tracks on their perfectly blended mix cds (x-mix electro boogie and laboratoire mix respectively).
erik already made an appearance on de:tuned�s 5 years box set in 2014 with the track primerose and now he�s back with more previously unreleased material. the tracks on offer are all on a deeper tip, with warm yet slightly eerie and mysterious sounds, clever programming and subtle effects. proof that erik has still got it after all these years. these tracks were made during an emotional time for erik, something that is clearly reflected in the music.
once again we enlisted alan oldham for artwork duties and matt colton for mastering the source material to perfection. this ep will be available on 180 gr vinyl. a digital release will also be available from all the usual outlets. de:tuned are honoured to have worked with erik on this release, a very personal record for him. thanks erik & emiel for your confidence and support!

after studying dance, kirikoo des aka nsdos, felt the need to create his own sound in order to explore movement. this is how he started imagining a whole new sonic order, an alternative approach to music � through abstraction. nsdos can�t restrain himself to existing technological tools and softwares, he prefers creating his own mediums: futurist instruments made of old audio converters (carte son), gameboy emulators, pieces of metal dismantled and weld together giving form to surreal machines. surrounded by his hybrid tools, nsdos unravels the rectilinear anatomy of techno music. textures are exploded, sounds mutilated, and brought back to their essence. this sonic odyssey, nsdos initiated in his native town paris before exploring it deeper in berlin � a city that he sees as a giant laboratory in which he experimented the field of possibilities. a huge admirer of the dada and lettrism movements, nsdos can be considered as the offspring of a diy culture. he ranks among his icons artists such as christian marley, stelarc or donna haraway who gave him a desire to push the limits of the body, objects and sound. his alternative vision and the way he reinterprets technological tools have made him one of the most important techno hackers of his generation. nsdos doesn�t create, he regenerates and transmutes music. his creative path is empirical, sometimes organic as he puts sensors on insects, his public in trance, trees � everything that comes on his way � and transcribes their movement into sounds. after three maxis, lazer connect in 2013, female guest list in 2015 both signed on parisian music label clekcleckboom recordings and money exchange published in 2016 on his label standalone complex, his new album, intuition, intervenes as the completion of his organic vison of music. inspired by meteorological stations and according to a principle of « bio feedback », nsdos surveyed the movements of nature, turned into data before translating them into sounds, textures and rhythms. the album comes with a series of 5 videos detailing the creative process of the artist � from recording in the middle of nature to the studio. in intuition, nsdos splinters the boundaries between genres and places techno as a matrix. his album reveals his sense of discipline, one that he draws from his passion from japanese dance buto, as well as his interest for biology, his experimental aura through industrial, sometimes nearly metal sounds. all these elements form the essence of whole new movement, unclassifiable, of which he constantly pushes the frontiers.

ele returns with ha noi nights, a collection of dusty jazz samples and soulful grooves inspired by the distinct tapestry of street culture pulsating through the capital. the opening track rush recalls our affection of groove chronicles 90 s garage sound, before repelete and bini take centre stage with their infectious soulful summer beauty legislate . resonating with fans of james mason s bassline in the monster nightgruv , the b side welcomes rhythm sections contours and saxophonist callum connell who turn towards the later hours with night shift . finally, sameed returns to the dusty jazz formula with someone like me an infectious blissful sound, built around jazz samples and rhodes solos.
